Summary:
The cook/utility performs routine duties associated with the preparation, presentation, and delivery of food to students, faculty, and visitors in a school foodservice operation. Position requires a positive attitude and excellent communication skills. Must be able to lift and carry moderate weight. Ideal candidate will be comfortable with both front-of-house and back-of-house responsibilities.
Essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Light food and drink preparation
- Maintain cleanliness in every area of cafeteria and workspace
- Properly operate kitchen equipment (e.g. dishwasher, convection oven)
- Deliver quality guest service at all times
- Read and comprehend menus, recipes, and task descriptions
- Utilize basic math skills to make unit conversions and adjust quantities
- Maintain composure under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- Coordinate multiple activities with attention to detail
- Present a positive attitude toward your job
- Demonstrate understanding of company philosophy
- Any other duties as assigned by management
